You understand the client, the atmosphere and how the home should feel. Our role is to turn the technology part of that brief into information the project team can understand, price and deliver.

That might mean comparing ways to hide the sound system, reviewing a cinema layout, coordinating control plates with your finishes or deciding where equipment can be maintained without disturbing the room. The starting point is not a product list: it is what the client wants to do in the space, what matters visually and what the construction will allow.

Sound without the visual distraction

Discreet audio does not always mean the same detail. It may use an invisible speaker beneath a compatible finish, a small architectural grille or a loudspeaker integrated with joinery or a fabric wall. The right route depends on the room, its construction and the listening brief.

Cinema rooms and living spaces that do both

A dedicated cinema and an everyday sitting room with a cinema mode have different design priorities. We coordinate picture, seating, sound, lighting and control around the way the room will really be used. A concealed system still needs properly planned screen housings, projector positions, joinery interfaces, ventilation and service access.

Agree the working relationship before the technical details

The first step is to agree scope, responsibilities and how client communication will work. Where detailed consultancy is needed, the proposal should identify the drawings, schedules, reviews and other deliverables included. It should also distinguish responsibility for supply, installation, commissioning, decorative finishing and later support.

Our Highgate media-room case study shows how an everyday television room can also use concealed projection, surround audio, Savant control and Lutron lighting. The project was delivered by GLO Audio Visual; that attribution is retained so the project evidence remains clear.

Questions interior designers often ask

Do I need a complete technical brief before getting in touch?

No. A plan, a few photographs, the project programme and a clear description of the room and client priorities are enough for an initial conversation. Detailed design can be scoped separately.

Can all of the technology be completely invisible?

Not always. Some elements can be concealed, while others require an opening, a surface, ventilation or future access. We will explain those constraints before the detail is fixed.

When should you be involved?

Ideally before joinery manufacture and before walls and ceilings are closed. Early decisions reduce compromises and late changes.

Do you offer CPD for design practices?

Yes. Our technology CPD is a separate learning route covering integrated rooms, discreet acoustics, smart wiring and lighting control.
