Sonos System Takeovers & Whole-Home Audio Care

Music that belongs to the whole home. We review inherited Sonos rooms, installed speakers, account ownership and the network that keeps them connected.

Existing homes · Continued care

A fresh start for a system already part of your home

Music that belongs to the whole home. We review inherited Sonos rooms, installed speakers, account ownership and the network that keeps them connected.

A whole-home music system, understood room by room.

An inherited Sonos installation may include concealed amplifiers and ceiling speakers as well as visible speakers and soundbars. Room names in the app are only part of the handover. We establish which equipment serves each space, how it connects and which account the household should control.

If music disappears from one room or grouped playback is unreliable, we review the network and the installed audio arrangement together. A changed router, an inaccessible amplifier or an older product generation can lead to different next steps. We identify the devices and supported app arrangement before proposing changes; a factory reset is not a substitute for understanding the system.

For a substantial installed system, the care proposal can address network dependencies, documented room assignments and planned expansion. Adding music to another room may involve speakers, amplification and cabling as well as an app setting. We keep installation or upgrade work distinct from continuing support so you can choose the scope that makes sense for your home.

What we assess

Ownership and household access

Arrange the supported ownership transfer, identify which app and product generations are installed, and review household access and music-service sign-ins without publishing or collecting passwords here.

Audio and network together

Map players, Amps, Ports or older Connect units, installed speakers and wired or wireless connections. Distinguish a network discovery problem from an audio, source or speaker-circuit fault.

Plan the right next step

Assess legacy S1 and current-app compatibility by exact model, room grouping and any wider control integration. Keep working equipment where appropriate and explain upgrade or separate-system trade-offs.

A takeover built around your installation

An ongoing care proposal makes most sense where Sonos is part of a larger multi-room installation or integrated home. The assessment can include network handover, amplifier and speaker checks, TV audio and the relationship with Savant, Control4 or another control platform. Streaming subscriptions and third-party outages remain separate dependencies.

The first visit and what follows

We agree an engineer assessment before taking responsibility for ongoing care. The outcome is a practical system record and a prioritised proposal: retain, stabilise, recover and improve. Available configuration is protected before changes, and work affecting occupied rooms is planned with you.

Your Sonos takeover questions

Can you look after Sonos and the home network together?

Yes, where that is the agreed scope. We identify the network equipment and management access alongside the Sonos products, then explain which devices and services the proposal covers. Broadband-provider faults and separate manufacturer services remain distinct responsibilities.

Does old Sonos equipment mean replacing every room?

Not automatically. Product compatibility is model-specific. Some households retain a separate S1 system; others choose a planned upgrade to bring rooms together. We review what you own and how you listen before proposing a route.

Can I request an SLA before you visit?

Yes. Tell us the care approach you prefer. We then assess the installation and propose the scope, monitoring options, response arrangements and price. An enquiry does not activate support or book an engineer automatically.

Technical references

Manufacturer guidance informs the assessment; exact installed models, access and current support status are checked before work is agreed.
